NSW TrainLink has temporarily closed down its online Reservations System after its booking system was compromised.

Investigations are underway to determine whether any customer’s personal information has been accessed.

The NSW TrainLink database does not contain sufficient credit card information for it to be used in any transaction.

NSW TrainLink has notified Police and Transport for NSW has engaged AusCERT, Australia’s leading Cyber Emergency Response team to manage the investigation of whether the data has in fact been accessed.

Transport for NSW has also notified the Privacy Commissioner.

Customers are asked to be extra vigilant to any unsolicited requests for personal information.

Opal customers can be reassured that Opal data is kept on a completely separate system and has not been compromised.
